Explore the galaxy, build ships and stations, mine asteroids, trade goods, fight pirates, establish your faction, with procedural galaxy generation, co-op and single player, open-ended sandbox gameplay
Avorion is a space simulation sandbox game developed by Boxelware for PC. In Avorion, players explore a procedurally-generated galaxy, mine asteroids, trade goods, build stations, and found their own factions. The game features both single player and co-op online multiplayer modes.
A key feature of Avorion is the ability to construct fully customizable ships and space stations out of modular blocks and components. Players can build small, swift fighters up to massive capital ships spanning kilometers using many types of blocks for crew quarters, weapons, engines, shields, and more. The size and shape of ships plays an important role in their capabilities and attributes during travel and combat.
As players explore star systems, they can gather resources by mining asteroids, establish trade routes and space stations, invest in planet development, and choose to take on quests offered by factions. They can also attack smugglers, pirates, and faction convoys if they desire. Establishing and growing a player's own faction is a major goal, requiring balancing relations with other factions through completing missions, trade agreements, or conquest.
Avorion features a procedurally-generated galaxy with over 100 sectors to explore. Sectors have different security ratings, economies, factions controlling them, encounters, and visual backgrounds. The sandbox nature of the game allows players to set their own goals, whether focusing on trade, combat, or exploration. In addition to single player, Avorion supports online co-op for groups to explore and conquer the galaxy together.
