What is Shores of Hazeron?
Shores of Hazeron is a long-running science fiction online role-playing game set in a procedurally generated universe. Players create their own characters, spaceships, and civilizations and set out to explore thousands of unique planets across hundreds of solar systems.
A key highlight of Shores of Hazeron is its player-driven sandbox gameplay. Everything in the game is designed and built by the players themselves, from designing spaceships and space stations block-by-block to establishing player-run factions and civilizations. This promotes complex player interaction and emergent gameplay.
Players can choose to pursue quests, engage in space and planetary battles with other civilizations, trade resources and ships, and colonize unclaimed territory. The game features both PvE and PvP gameplay along with a player-run economy. An in-depth crafting system allows players to construct customized spaceships and stations out of thousands of blocks and components.
Shores of Hazeron first launched as a beta in 2010 by Hazeron.com, founded by Sergey Kashyrin. Despite periods of slow development, it retains a small but dedicated player base to this day thanks to its expansive feature set focused on freedom and creativity.
