What is EVE Online?
EVE Online is a space-themed massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG) developed and published by CCP Games. Set in a science fiction persistent world, players pilot customizable ships through over 7,500 star systems while interacting with other players. EVE Online's gameplay mostly revolves around spaceship-oriented combat and characters that participate in a multitude of professions and activities.
Players of EVE Online can engage in a variety of in-game professions and activities, including exploration, mining, piracy, manufacturing, trading, and combat (player versus environment and player versus player). One of the game's most notable features is its single, open-ended universe that can be shaped and changed almost entirely by the players.
Since its initial release on May 6, 2003, EVE Online has received a total of twenty-two expansions over its lifetime. It is renowned for its scale and complexity, with over 7,800 solar systems that can be visited or inhabited. The game also has its own in-game economy, wherein players can build and maintain their own industries and business by trading resources found through activities such as combat or mining.
