What is Badland?

Badland is an award-winning side-scrolling action adventure game developed and published by Frogmind in 2013. It features innovative physics-based gameplay and gorgeous atmospheric graphics and audio.

In the game, the player controls a small creature called a clone navigating through a mysterious forest full of imaginative traps and obstacles. Through the forest, you discover the remains of a civilizaton now inhabited by other strange clone creatures.

Gameplay involves tactically flying the clone around by tapping the screen to flap its wings. You must avoid dangerous hazards like spinning saws, sticky slime, and bombs, while also manipulating the environment to clear a path using things like movable blocks, switches, and giant spiders. Solving each puzzle-like level requires precision flapping control and quick reflexes.

The stunning graphics use a silhouette style with vibrant colors to create an immersive world. Paired with minimalist atmospheric audio, it creates a highly stylized gameplay experience. The physics-based controls that manipulate the clone and environment are very polished.

Badland features well over 100 levels across 4 unique worlds - Daydream, Nightmadness, Sorrow and Joy. Each world has its own distinctive visual style and hazards. There is also an innovative multiplayer mode for up to 4 players with co-op and versus levels.
