Here's how it works: Local governments submit capital projects to the Citizinvestor platform, with a fundraising goal and deadline. Project categories include parks, education, transportation, public art, and more. Citizens can then browse projects in their area, donate directly to ones they care about, and rally support from their social networks. If a project reaches its fundraising goal by the deadline, the local government carries it out. If not, no money changes hands.

By empowering residents to directly fund projects through crowdfunding, Citizinvestor increases civic engagement and community investment in local government.
