Experience a free online multiplayer nation simulation game where you rule your own country, build infrastructure, form alliances, and wage war against other players.
Cyber Nations is a free, browser-based multiplayer online nation simulation game. Players start by creating a nation from scratch, naming it, designing a flag, and choosing a government type (democracy, republic, socialist, etc.). They build cities, tax their population, purchase resources on the open market, build an army and wage wars, improve their nation statistically through upgrading buildings and maintaining a healthy population, and create technology through research.
The game, which launched in 2006, quickly gained a large community of regular players. While players are assigned to a random team color initially (allied with other nations of the same color), the heart of the game is the many player-created alliances. Alliances provide organization, guidance for new players, trade partnerships, military protection, and camaraderie. Some alliances accept any player willing to agree to certain rules, while others are invitation-only. Wars and politics between alliances generate much of the game's long-term interest. In addition to battling one another directly in warfare, opposing alliances also launch spy and sabotage missions against each other's nations.
Over its long history, Cyber Nations gameplay has evolved from requiring daily clicks to progress efficiently, to a system that rewards good long-term strategy decisions and alliance participation. Despite its age for a browser game, it maintains a dedicated set of tens of thousands of players. With over 250,000 registered nations, Cyber Nations lays claim to being among the longest-lasting and biggest nation simulation games on the web.
