What is War of Republics?
War of Republics is a free-to-play massively multiplayer online real-time strategy (MMORTS) game developed and published by Cybertime Gaming. It is set in a post-apocalyptic fictional world where players battle for resources and territory.
In War of Republics, players take control of a small group of survivors and build up an army to take over territories on the map. Resources like metal, coal, oil and uranium can be gathered to produce tanks, aircraft and other military units to attack opponents. Players can form alliances with others to coordinate attacks and capture even more territory.
The game features retro-futuristic visuals and dieselpunk aesthetic for many of the army units and buildings. As players progress, they can advance through new ages of technology like the Industrial Age and Modern Age to gain access to more advanced weaponry. The game is browser-based and supports multiple languages.
War of Republics went into open beta in 2010 and has garnered a dedicated player base, receiving praise for its simple yet addictive gameplay, clan wars and alliance system. It monetizes through the sale of premium in-game currency which can speed up construction times and resource production.
