What is GiveLab?

GiveLab is an online platform that aims to connect nonprofits and social enterprises with technical volunteers to work on technology projects. It was founded with the goal of helping mission-driven organizations access technical skills and expertise that they may not have on staff.

On the GiveLab platform, nonprofits can post technology projects that they need help with, specifying details like the problem they are trying to solve, necessary skills, timeline, and more. Some examples of projects could be building a website, developing a custom database, doing graphic design work, etc.

Volunteers with technology skills and experience can browse the projects posted by nonprofits and social enterprises. If they see a project that matches their abilities and interests, they can sign up to help. Volunteers have complete flexibility in terms of how much or how little they contribute.

The platform aims to make it easy for volunteers to give their time and skills to causes they care about. At the same time, it helps nonprofits advance their missions by providing technology solutions and expertise that would otherwise be difficult for them to access and afford.

Since launching in 2021, GiveLab has facilitated connections on hundreds of tech projects between volunteers and organizations like food banks, environmental groups, youth development nonprofits, and many more.
