Key features of Groove Music Pass include:

- Ability to download tracks, albums, and playlists for offline listening
- Curated playlists and radio stations based on user preferences and listening history
- Family plan allowing up to 6 people to share one subscription
- Integration with Windows 10, Xbox Music, as well as iOS and Android devices
In October 2017, Microsoft announced that Groove Music Pass would be discontinued as of December 31, 2017, though users could still play previously-downloaded music after that date. Microsoft partnered with Spotify to help transition Groove Music Pass users.
