What is Incredipede?
Incredipede is a unique physics-based puzzle video game developed by Northway Games and released in 2012. In the game, players take control of a creature called the Incredipede which starts with basic limbs but can adapt by adding arms and legs in order to traverse the game's challenging puzzles.
The key feature of Incredipede is the creature itself. It begins with a simple body and two segments that serve as limbs, but as players earn coins by completing levels they can purchase new arms, legs, muscles and springs to augment the Incredipede. As limbs are added, the physics simulation updates seamlessly to account for the new body shape. This allows for an unlimited number of body configurations to solve puzzles.
The puzzles themselves involve traversing through imaginative landscapes, manipulating objects to clear obstacles, or reaching seemingly unattainable goals. As levels progress, the puzzles require increasingly complex Incredipede structures and creative problem solving skills from players. Environmental features like springs, see-saws, switches and more all factor into the puzzles.
With its customizable creature and emergent physics-based gameplay, Incredipede provides a unique and challenging puzzle experience. The flexibility of the Incredipede itself combined with the game's creative puzzles allow players to continually adapt their strategies.
