What is Infestation: Survivor Stories?

Infestation: Survivor Stories (originally known as The War Z before a renaming in 2013) is an open-world zombie survival multiplayer video game. It is set in a post-apocalyptic location overrun by zombie-like enemies called walkers. Players take on the role of survivors in this harsh environment, forced to scavenge supplies, weapons, transportation and shelter to continue surviving. The core gameplay focuses on working with or against other players to survive the walkers, player-killers, and the elements.

The game features both PvE and PvP gameplay in an open map with large areas to explore and plunder. You start with basic supplies but must desperately search for food, water, weapons, ammunition, backpacks, armor, medical kits, and other gear. Vehicles allow faster traversal but require fuel. Shelter like houses, apartments, stores and farms can be claimed and fortified as bases. The map also contains infected zones with improved loot but greater walker threat.

Working with other players can help ensure survival, but many instead turn to killing and looting other survivors for their gear. KOS (kill-on-sight) remains a threat everywhere. Careful resource planning is imperative as starvation, dehydration, injuries, and infections rapidly turn lethal. Nights are especially deadly as walkers become more aggressive but darkness provides cover for other players as well. Advanced players can craft various items like weapons and structures to help survive more efficiently.
