KeyCat: Free & Open-Source Password Manager

KeyCat is a free and open-source password manager for Windows, Mac and Linux. It allows users to securely store passwords and other sensitive information in an encrypted vault protected by a master password.

What is KeyCat?

KeyCat is a free, open-source, cross-platform password manager and secure digital vault. It allows users to securely store website usernames and passwords, credit card information, secure notes, and other sensitive information encrypted with AES-256 encryption.

KeyCat has an intuitive and easy-to-use graphical user interface. Users create a master password which is used to encrypt and decrypt the vault data. The master password is never stored anywhere, so only the user knows it. KeyCat also generates strong, random passwords for new accounts.

Other features include password sharing with other KeyCat users, cloud sync across devices, autofill for web browsers, two-factor authentication for master password access, and more. KeyCat can be self-hosted for advanced control and privacy.

KeyCat is available on Windows, macOS and Linux. It is released under the GNU GPLv3 open source license. The source code is available for anyone to view, audit, and modify. Overall, KeyCat combines security, privacy and usability into a full-featured open-source password management solution.
