The core of Disperser is an 8-stage sequencer, where each stage represents a band of frequencies. Each sequencer stage can apply volume, pan, and cutoff modulation individually per band. This allows you to create complex rhythmic effects that modulate different frequency ranges separately. For example, you can have a fast tremolo on the high frequencies while the bass is gated rhythmically.

Additionally, Disperser provides 4 different modulation effect modes:
