Pokémon UNITE is a free-to-play multiplayer online battle arena (MOBA) game developed by TiMi Studios and published by The Pokémon Company and Nintendo for the Nintendo Switch. Players compete in 5v5 team battles, selecting from a diverse cast of Pokémon characters, each with unique moves and abilities, to defeat opponents and score points.

What is Pokémon UNITE?

Pokémon UNITE is a free-to-play multiplayer online battle arena (MOBA) game developed by TiMi Studios and published by The Pokémon Company and Nintendo for the Nintendo Switch. It was later released for iOS and Android mobile devices.

In Pokémon UNITE, two teams of five players compete against each other to score the most points within a set time limit. Players select from an ever-expanding cast of Pokémon characters, each with their own unique moves and abilities, to defeat wild Pokémon and opposing team members and score points by throwing 'Aqeos' energy into goals located in the enemy territory.

Matches take place on a symmetrical map divided by three lanes, with a central area containing powerful wild Pokémon that provide buffs when defeated. As the battle progresses, players level up their Pokémon to learn new abilities and evolve them into stronger forms. There is an emphasis on cooperative teamwork to defeat opponents, secure objectives and manage the ebb and flow of battle.

Pokémon UNITE provides quick and accessible sessions of competitive multiplayer action with the recognizable faces and combat mechanics of the Pokémon franchise. There are microtransactions to gain aesthetic items for Pokémon and trainers, but otherwise the core gameplay remains free-to-play and strategically deep.
