What is Psensor?
Psensor is an open source, cross-platform application designed to monitor hardware temperature sensors inside personal computers. It supports motherboard, CPU, GPU, and hard drive temperature monitoring through hardware sensors and SMBUS on Linux systems.
Some key features of Psensor include:
- Graphical and numerical display of temperature data over time
- Customizable high/low temperature alarms and notifications
- Automatic system shutdown, sleep, or hibernation based on temperature thresholds
- Logging and export of sensor history to CSV files
- Plugin support for additional hardware sensor chips
- A simple, easy-to-use GUI interface
Psensor can help identify faulty temperature sensors or cooling issues before they cause damage to computer components. It is useful for both desktop and laptop users concerned about monitoring their system temperatures. The application is free, open source software released under the GNU GPLv3 license.
