Discover Satourne, a feature-rich open-source DAW and music sequencer with tools for recording, MIDI sequencing, virtual instruments, audio editing, mixing, effects processing, and more. Suitable for musicians and audio engineers.
Satourne is an open-source, cross-platform digital audio workstation (DAW) and music sequencer. Developed by a community of musicians, engineers, and developers, it provides a wide range of tools for audio and MIDI within an intuitive and customizable interface.
As a DAW, Satourne facilitates multi-track audio recording at various bit depths and sample rates, allowing users to capture vocals, instruments, and other sounds. Built-in audio editing tools, like trimming, fades, normalization, and more allow for manipulating, cleaning up, and polishing recorded audio.
Satourne also functions as a MIDI sequencer, making it possible to program software instruments and external MIDI gear. Piano roll and score editors are provided for detailed MIDI editing. Virtual instrument hosting allows users to load VST plugins and sample libraries to access synthesized and sampled sounds.
A modular effects rack gives access to a variety of stock effects plugins like reverbs, delays, compressors and also allows for loading VST effects. This makes it possible to process virtual instruments and audio tracks with studio-grade mixing and effects.
Other key features include: audio automation, real-time time stretching, track freezing, automatic plug-in delay compensation, metadata editing, markers and regions, customizable keyboard shortcuts, and more.
Being an open-source project, Satourne is completely free to download and use. Its community continues working to improve and refine the software to be a competitive, user-friendly, and fully-featured DAW option for all major operating systems.
