What is SongRepo?

SongRepo is an open-source, self-hosted media server for managing and streaming your personal music library. It allows you to:

  • Catalog and organize your music files from various sources into a centralized database
  • Automatically download metadata like song titles, artists, albums, genre, cover art, etc.
  • Easily browse your library by albums, artists, playlists, genres, etc. with an intuitive web interface
  • Stream your music to any device from the SongRepo web app using a browser
  • Create and manage playlists, including smart playlists that update automatically based on rules
  • Share music with others by generating shareable links to songs, albums, artists or playlists
  • Access and control your library remotely from any device through the web app
  • Automatically transcode high-bit music files to save bandwidth

As an open source platform, SongRepo is customizable, transparent, and respects user privacy. It gives you full control and ownership over your music library without relying on any streaming services. SongRepo can be deployed on a Raspberry Pi or a local server in your home network.
