What is Star Wars: Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy?

Star Wars: Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy is a first and third-person shooter video game developed by Raven Software and published by LucasArts. It was released in September 2003 for Microsoft Windows and OS X.

The game is set in the Star Wars universe around the time of the New Jedi Order series of novels. Players create their own Jedi character and customize the character's gender, clothing, lightsaber style, force abilities, and physical appearance. The main gameplay features first and third-person shooter mechanics, along with role-playing elements involving customization and use of Force abilities.

After creating a character, the player trains to become a Jedi at Luke Skywalker's Jedi Academy under the guidance of Kyle Katarn. The story follows the player's character and two fellow students investigating cult activity while a troubled student falls to the dark side and wages war on the Academy. Locations in the game include Yavin IV, Tatooine, Hoth, and Korriban.

Key gameplay features include lightaber combat, use of the Force with light and dark powers, a variety of ranged and explosive weapons, and online multiplayer modes supporting up to 64 players. It uses id Tech 3 engine technology.
