What is Steper?

Steper is a user-friendly step sequencer and melody creation tool designed for electronic music producers, DJs, and composers. It provides an intuitive interface for quickly laying out rhythmic and melodic patterns by placing notes on a grid. Users can draw in notes and adjustments with their mouse or via MIDI keyboard input.

There is also a chord mode that will intelligently spread the notes from single-note patterns into chords. Song sections created in Steper can be arrangement in a timeline interface.

The software includes a large library of quality synth and drum sampler sounds to easily get going. And it has plugin support for integrating VST instruments and effects. Completed musical ideas from Steper can be exported as MIDI files or audio stems for further production.

Thanks to its simplicity in creating hooks, basslines, leads, and layered accompaniments, Steper is regarded as one of the fastest ways for artists to sketch out full song ideas. It works well on its own for writing songs from scratch or alongside DAWs when creative inspiration is needed.
