Ubisoft Connect

Ubisoft Connect is a desktop client and online service developed by Ubisoft to provide social and digital rights features for their games. It allows players to connect with friends, track achievements, challenges and rewards, and access DLCs.

What is Ubisoft Connect?

Ubisoft Connect is a desktop client and online service developed and published by Ubisoft to provide social, communicative, and digital rights management capabilities for Ubisoft games across Windows, Stadia, PlayStation, Xbox platforms. The service was launched in July 2020, replacing Ubisoft's previous Uplay and Ubisoft Club services.

The client allows players to access their Ubisoft game library and download and launch supported games on PC. Key features include:

  • Friends system to see what friends are playing and social interaction features like chat.
  • Progression tracker with achievements, challenges, and rewards across Ubisoft games.
  • Access to downloadable content (DLCs) like extra missions, weapons, skins etc.
  • Cross-platform support and ability to transition saves across multiple platforms.
  • In-game challenges and activities for rewards.
  • Earning units that can be redeemed in Ubisoft Store for new games, DLCs, discounts etc.

While the service provides useful social integration and activation of games, it has also received criticism regarding issues like annoying popups, always-online requirements and regional pricing problems.
