Free, open source home server for comics and ebooks, allowing access from any device with a web browser, indexing, metadata fetching, and search functionality.
Ubooquity is a free, open source web application designed for personal digital comic and ebook libraries. It runs on your home server or network and provides a web-based interface for managing and accessing your collection from any modern web browser.
Once installed on a server or NAS, Ubooquity will scan your designated comics/ebooks directories and index all the files it finds. It downloads metadata like titles, authors, descriptions, covers, etc. This allows you to easily browse, search, sort, and filter your full library.
From the Ubooquity dashboard you can see recently added items, continue reading where you left off, mark favorites, leave notes and ratings, and more. It has reading modes tailored for comic books and ebooks.
You can access your library on the go from phones, tablets, laptops, and any device with a web browser. This works great for reading on multiple devices while keeping one centralized catalog and server for all your files and data.
Ubooquity is written in Java and works on Windows, Mac, Linux, and NAS devices like Synology or QNAP. It can be self-hosted or publicly hosted for access anywhere.
