W10Privacy is a free, open-source program that gives users more control over privacy settings and data collection in Windows 10. It was created out of concern over some of the default privacy settings in Windows 10 that many feel collect too much user data and share it with Microsoft.
By default, Windows 10 collects a large amount of telemetry data on how users interact with the OS and transmits that data back to Microsoft. This data helps Microsoft improve and troubleshoot Windows, but many users feel uncomfortable having that level of data collection happening without their explicit consent. W10Privacy allows users to easily disable most of that telemetry collection with just a few clicks.
