Waves GTR is a software plugin designed to realistically model iconic guitar amplifiers and effects pedals. It was created by Waves Audio, a company known for its professional audio plugins used in music production.
The plugin includes simulations of over 100 famous guitar amps like Fender, Marshall, Vox, Mesa Boogie, and Soldano. It captures the unique tone, distortion, and responsiveness of tube amplifiers used by guitar legends. The amp models can be paired with effect pedals like overdrive, fuzz, delay, chorus, reverb, and more.
One of the key features of Waves GTR is its cabinet modeling technology. It simulates speaker cabinets like those used with the modeled amps. This helps produce an authentic guitar tone since the amp and cabinet work together. The software has 23 cabinet models from 1x6 Fender combos to full 4x12 stacks.
Guitarists can use Waves GTR during recording or live playing. The easy-to-use interface lets you build presets by mixing and matching amps, cabs, and effects. Additional tone shaping controls like drive, bass, mid, treble allow fine adjustments to create unique tones. Presets can be saved and recalled.
