What is Waves IR-1?
The Waves IR-1 convolution reverb plugin provides high-quality, natural-sounding reverb using impulse responses. An impulse response (IR) is an audio file that captures the acoustic characteristics of a real physical space. The IR-1 comes pre-loaded with a large library of IRs sampled from actual spaces like concert halls, churches, studios, bathrooms, and more.
Using convolution, the IR-1 convolves your audio signal with the impulse response to make it sound like it's being played back in that space. This produces very realistic, natural reverbs compared to algorithmic digital reverbs. The interface is clean and simple - you can quickly browse IRs by category, load your own IRs, tweak parameters like mix, pre-delay, decay time, and more.
