What is Atomic Tanks?

Atomic Tanks is a free, open-source artillery game with similarities to classics like Worms or Scorched Earth. Players take turns controlling tanks and firing an arsenal of weapons at opponents situated across destructible terrain. The goal is to eliminate the other tanks by dealing damage through direct hits or using the environment to your advantage.

The game features both single player and local multiplayer modes supporting up to 4 players. There is a wide selection of weapons to unlock including bullets, missiles, grenades, mines, and explosive shells. Players can customize tanks with different properties like speed and armor. The terrain is completely destructible and shards from explosions can damage nearby tanks. There are both flat terrain maps as well as more dynamic designs. Gravity, friction, and wind simulation impact weapon trajectories.

Atomic Tanks has cartoony graphics and uses OpenGL for rendering. The game is written in C++ and available cross-platform on Windows, Mac, and Linux.
