What is BibTeXSearch?
BibTeXSearch is an open source website developed to help researchers more easily find and manage BibTeX references for their academic papers and publications. It provides the ability to search across many online databases, open access repositories, university bibliographies, and other sources to locate relevant BibTeX references.
Once relevant citations are found, BibTeXSearch makes it easy to export them in standard BibTeX format that can then be dropped directly into the LaTeX documents that researchers are preparing. This saves considerable time compared to having to locate, retrieve, and format references manually from various sources.
Some of the key features provided by BibTeXSearch include:
- Search interface that allows looking up reference metadata (title, authors, year, etc.) across several data sources on the web
- Ability to preview search results and select relevant BibTeX references to save
- One-click export of references to BibTeX format for easy import into LaTeX
- Automatically retrievesBibTeX metadata for references, minimizing later edits
- Open source codebase for developer contributions and customization
By relying on BibTeXSearch to handle much of the references curation process, researchers can better focus their efforts on writing papers rather than reference management. It saves them considerable time while also helping ensure their reference lists are complete and properly formatted.
