What is Bookish?

Bookish is an open-source, cross-platform eBook reader, library manager, and document organizer. Developed by creators Daniel Harple and Zoe Lincoln in 2020, Bookish aims to provide a feature-rich yet easy to use eBook application.

With Bookish, users can read ePub, PDF, and other common eBook file formats. It provides standard reading features like bookmarks, annotations, highlights, dictionary lookups, and variable font sizing. Documents can be tagged and organized into customizable virtual libraries for quick access.

A key focus of Bookish is library management and document organization. Users can create hierarchical folder structures and tag documents with multiple labels. Sorting and filtering make it easy to browse large libraries. Bookish also enables syncing reading progress, bookmarks, annotations, etc across devices using cloud services like Dropbox.
