When used as a messenger, CryptoTE allows users to chat, exchange files, make VoIP calls and video chat with end-to-end encryption. This ensures only the communicating parties, not even the software developers, can access the content of conversations. It supports individual and group chats.
CryptoTE also functions as a web browser with built-in encryption, proxy servers and other privacy features to prevent tracking and surveillance. It routes all traffic through the Tor network to conceal users' IP addresses. The browser leaves no traces such as browsing history, cookies or cache on the local device.
Other key features of CryptoTE include self-destructing encrypted messages, screenshot prevention, forward secrecy and perfect forward secrecy to guarantee security. Data is stored with client-side encryption. The software is open source and transparent about its functionality, with no backdoors.
