In Digital Paint: Paintball 2, players take part in simulated paintball matches. They use a variety of realistic paintball guns and equipment to shoot paint pellets at computer-controlled opponents or other human players over a local area network or online. The goal is to eliminate all members of the opposing team.

Players can customize their character by choosing gender, outfit, gear, and paintball gun. The game features a variety of indoor and outdoor paintball arenas as well as scenarios such as capture the flag. Single player modes allow players to practice against computer AI bots.
