What is Hazama?
Hazama is an open-source vector graphics editor originally developed for Linux but now available for Windows and Mac as well. It has a simple and intuitive user interface focused mainly on basic drawing, shape, and text tools rather than advanced features.
Some of the key capabilities include:
- Creating basic shapes (rectangles, circles, polygons, etc.) and paths
- Editing shape size, colors, line widths, fill styles
- Text tool with different fonts, sizes, formatting options
- Simple layer management for organizing objects
- Exporting as raster (e.g. PNG) and vector (SVG) images
- Small filesize and low system requirements
While lacking some sophisticated tools for illustration and technical drawings found in programs like Inkscape or Adobe Illustrator, Hazama excels at quick sketches, diagrams, icons, logos, and other basic vector artwork. Its simplicity also makes it easy for beginners to learn.
Hazama is distributed under an open source GPL license making it free to download and use. It is lightweight software great for simple everyday vector graphics work.
