Heroes of Steel: Turn-Based Tactical RPG
A fantasy setting with unique abilities, a class system, and turn-based combat - explore dungeons, level up characters, acquire gear, and defeat enemies.
What is Heroes of Steel?
Heroes of Steel is a turn-based tactical RPG developed and published by Trese Brothers in 2013. It features a high fantasy setting with a deep character progression system and challenging, strategic combat.
In the game, you assemble a party of up to 4 characters, each with their own unique abilities, stats, traits, and class. There are 4 base classes: Knight, Ranger, Wizard, and Druid which can be upgraded to more advanced prestige classes. You explore dangerous locations like bandit camps, ruins, and dungeons, battling goblins, zombies, demons, and other foes in turn-based combat. Positioning and abilities are key to overcoming difficult encounters.
Outside of combat, there is a strong focus on character progression. You earn XP to level up your heroes, granting stat increases and new abilities. Looting gear and purchasing equipment allows further character customization. The game features both singleplayer and local co-op multiplayer.
With its emphasis on strategic, turn-based combat and deep character progression, Heroes of Steel stands out in the RPG genre. Its high fantasy setting and retro graphics hearken back to classic CRPGs. Over 75 hours of content with challenging gameplay and possibilities for different party configurations give it great replay value.
