What is LivePlasma?
LivePlasma is a free web application that helps users discover new content based on their interests. It creates an interactive visualization that shows relationships between different items such as movies, music, books, and TV shows.
To use LivePlasma, you simply search for an item you're interested in like a movie, band, author, or TV series. LivePlasma will then generate a visual map, with your searched item in the center and related items branched out around it. The closer two items are on the map, the stronger their relationship.
You can then explore the map and click on any of the related items to search for something new. For example, if you search for the movie The Matrix, you might see related sci-fi movies like Inception and AI, directors like the Wachowskis, or actors like Keanu Reeves branching out from it. Clicking on any of those items would allow you to explore them further.
The visual interface makes it easy to discover new movies, music and more based on what genres, directors, writers, or actors you already like. You can keep searching and linking different items together in chains to get very customized recommendations.
LivePlasma is ideal for when you've run out of things to watch or listen to or read and want to find new content that is likely to suit your tastes.
