What is Offcloud?
Offcloud is a desktop application and browser extension that provides the ability to download files from major cloud hosting services like Google Drive, OneDrive, Dropbox, and others. It works by intercepting download requests when you try to download files from these services directly, routing the downloads through Offcloud's servers instead.
One of the main use cases for Offcloud is overcoming download restrictions and limits imposed by cloud hosting providers. For example, Google Drive limits users to only being able to download a certain number of GB per day, and restricts download speeds. Offcloud removes both of these restrictions by downloading using its own servers.
In addition to bypassing limits, Offcloud can accelerate download speeds up to 10x faster in some cases by pooling connections. It also makes downloading multiple files easier by allowing users to queue up batches of files for download rather than having to do each one manually.
Some key features of Offcloud include:
- Support for downloading from over 30 major cloud hosting services including Google Drive, OneDrive, Dropbox, Box, Mega, Mediafire, Amazon S3, and more.
- No limits on how much you can download or restrictions on download speeds.
- A download manager interface for queueing up and managing file downloads in bulk.
- Browser extensions for Chrome and Firefox to simplify downloading files directly from cloud storage services.
- The ability to upload files to cloud services like Google Drive right from the Offcloud interface.
- Support for proxy connections, SOCKS5 connections, as well as VPN tunneling features for additional privacy.
Offcloud is available as a paid subscription service, with plans starting from around $5/month. There is also a free plan with limited features for individual users. It runs on Windows, Mac, and Linux operating systems.
