An open-source personal analytics platform to track various aspects of a user's life, including time spent on devices and applications, physical activity, location history and more
onion.lt is an open-source self-tracking and personal analytics application that gives users insight into their own behavior and habits. Developed as an alternative to commercial offerings, onion.lt puts users in control of their own data and how it is analyzed.
At its core, onion.lt allows users to easily capture diverse aspects of their lives. This can include time spent on phones/computers and individual apps/websites, physical activity like steps and workouts, location history, music listening, transportation methods and more. Custom trackers for new data types can also be created.
Once data is collected, onion.lt provides tools to visualize trends and patterns in the accumulated life data. This includes custom graphs, calendars, tag explorers, correlations and comparisons. These analytic capabilities let users spot trends, set goals and reflect on their behaviors.
As an open-source platform hosted on users' own server or devices, onion.lt gives users full data ownership and privacy. All data remains private and is not shared without the user's explicit consent. This transparent approach contrasts with closed/proprietary trackers.
With long-term use, onion.lt can provide self-knowledge and motivation to develop more intentional habits. The visibility it provides into one's behaviors can be both enlightening and humbling.
