What is Radio Paradise?

Radio Paradise is an independent, commercial-free internet radio station founded by Bill Goldsmith in 2000. The station features an eclectic mix of music genres spanning rock, alternative, folk, pop, jazz, blues, world music, and classical, designed to appeal to the station's demographic of 25-54 year old adults.

Songs are hand-picked by Goldsmith and a small staff based on flow, variety and musical quality, with an emphasis on lesser-known and independent artists. The station is unique in creating strong bonds between its staff, artists, and listeners. Radio Paradise uses a revenue model where roughly 10% of its expenses are covered by listener donations and subscriptions, but the majority funding for the station comes from payola-free artist and label underwriting. Advertising clutter is kept to a minimum.
