What is SiriusXM?
SiriusXM is a satellite radio service that broadcasts a variety of around-the-clock entertainment, news, sports and music programming. Over 300 channels are offered, ranging across genres like rock, pop, country, jazz, classical, hip hop, comedy and more. A mix of commercial-free and regular commercial channels are available.
A paid subscription is required to access SiriusXM programming. Subscriptions can be monthly or longer term annual plans. SiriusXM works by transmitting signals from a network of satellites in geostationary orbit to specialized satellite radios which can be installed in cars, used portably, or incorporated into home stereo systems. Over 200 million people have access to SiriusXM in vehicles, and 31 million are self-pay subscribers.
SiriusXM offers exclusive content that is not available on traditional AM/FM radio, including live play-by-play for every NFL, MLB and NBA game, concerts, interviews and more. It also creates curated music channels hosted by well-known musicians and genres. Subscribers can also access online streaming and some on-demand content with higher tier subscription plans.
