A free, open-source, cross-platform world simulation game with retro pixel graphics. Explore procedurally generated lands, gather resources, craft tools and buildings, farm crops, raise livestock, and more in this relaxing yet deep sandbox RPG.
The East New World is an open-source, indie world simulation and sandbox RPG game developed by Amber Alayn. It features retro-inspired pixel art graphics and gameplay focused on exploration, crafting, farming, and base-building mechanics.
When starting a new game, players find themselves stranded in a procedurally generated world filled with forests, plains, deserts, and more for them to explore. As they gather resources like wood, stone, ores, fibers, and more, players can craft over 500 different items ranging from tools and weapons to furniture and decorations to construct buildings and thrive.
The core gameplay loop focuses around exploring to find the perfect settlement location, gathering materials, farming crops and livestock, crafting equipment, constructing buildings, and eventually establishing a thriving homestead. Additional gameplay features include procedurally generated NPCs to trade and interact with, dynamic events and seasons, cooking and brewing systems, livestock husbandry, and robust building mechanics.
With its retro open-ended gameplay and relaxing soundtrack, The East New World aims to invoke a sense of nostalgia and wonder as players carve out their place in a beautiful pixel art world. Its creative sandbox structure allows every playthrough to be a wholly unique adventure. As an open-source project, the game is also completely free while supporting modding and additions from the player community.
