A highly-regarded fan-made game featuring 8 new Robot Masters, new weapons, and over 30 levels, all created by Philippe Poulin (MegaPhilX)
Mega Man Unlimited is a fan-made platform game developed by Philippe Poulin (MegaPhilX) using the Mega Man Engine. It is an unofficial, non-profit fangame meant to emulate the NES-style Mega Man gameplay. The game was originally released in 2013 for Windows and has since been ported to other platforms by fans.
Unlimited features completely original content not seen in any official Mega Man games, including 8 Robot Masters with creative designs and unique weapons to obtain after defeating them. There are over 30 action-packed levels spanning 8 Linear Stages to complete, most of them easily as difficult as levels from the NES Mega Man classics.
The tight platforming and combat Mega Man is known for is on full display here. You can shoot, jump, and slide your way through levels, using your weapons to exploit boss weaknesses. There are also shop systems, unlockable bonuses, and time trial modes for added replayability.
With its loyal adherence to series roots yet willingness to introduce refreshing ideas into the mix, Mega Man Unlimited lives up to its name and stands out as one of the most ambitious and acclaimed Mega Man fangames ever created.
