What is SuperTux?
SuperTux is an open source, classic 2D side-scrolling platform game where you play as Tux, the Linux mascot. Inspired by games like Super Mario Bros, SuperTux features vibrant graphics, fun platforming gameplay focused on timing and avoidance, and light-hearted characters and themes.
As Tux, you run and jump through levels taking out enemies by jumping on them or shooting fireballs. Levels contain platforms, gaps, enemies, and puzzles to solve. Coins are scattered around which you can collect for points and extra lives. There are also secret areas and mini-games to discover.
The main Adventure mode features over 60 levels across a world map with different themes like forest, castle, cave, and ice. Special Boss levels test your skill against giant enemies. There is also a Level Editor to create and share your own levels. With multiplayer support, you can race against friends.
With gameplay suitable for all ages, cheerful graphics, and completely free and open source, SuperTux is a great way to enjoy classic 2D jumping action on Linux platforms.
