Secret Maryo Chronicles is an open source 2D platform video game released in 2003. It is heavily inspired by Nintendo's classic Super Mario games and features similar gameplay and elements.
The player controls Maryo, a plumber who must travel through various worlds and levels to rescue his girlfriend Princess Secret. Gameplay involves running, jumping, defeating enemies by jumping on them or shooting fireballs, and collecting powerups along the way.
Each world has its own theme with different enemies, obstacles, and environments for the player to navigate. Some of the worlds include grasslands, deserts, forests, skies, beaches, spooky castles, and more. The objective is to reach the end of the level and defeat the boss to advance.
