What is USMTGUI?
USMTGUI is an open-source Windows application that provides a graphical user interface for running Microsoft's User State Migration Tool (USMT). USMT is a command-line utility included in Windows that allows you to migrate user files and settings from one Windows PC to another.
With USMTGUI, you don't need to deal with complex USMT command lines. It gives you a simple wizard-based interface to pick what you want to migrate, including:
- User files and folders
- Application settings and data
- Windows settings
- User account information
You can save migration configurations for reuse later. USMTGUI also provides logging and report capabilities to help troubleshoot migrations.
USMTGUI makes it much easier to utilize the capabilities of Microsoft USMT to migrate select user data and settings across PCs during OS upgrades, PC replacements, or when moving user profiles between domains. It eliminates the need to work with USMT via the command line.
