What is Uteach?
Uteach is an online learning platform and community developed and maintained by the University of Texas at Austin College of Natural Sciences. It provides a wide range of tools, resources, and professional development opportunities specifically for K-12 teachers.
The core of Uteach's offerings are its self-paced online courses covering various subject areas like math, science, English, and social studies. These interactive courses allow teachers to enhance their knowledge and teaching techniques across diverse topics that align with state and national curriculum standards.
In addition to online courses, Uteach also offers a library of standards-based lesson plans that teachers can readily incorporate into their own classrooms. Lesson plans combine teaching content with step-by-step instructional guidance and recommendations. There are over 3,000 lesson plans currently available.
For ongoing professional development, Uteach facilitates virtual workshops, topical resource collections, teaching strategy guides, and more. There are also community areas where educators can connect and collaborate with peers to share ideas, best practices, and helpful feedback.
