What is Wormate.io?

Wormate.io is a free, web-based multiplayer game where players control a worm character on a 2D map. The goal of the game is to grow your worm by maneuvering around the map and cutting off pieces of your opponents' worms when they cross your path.

When the match starts, each player's worm is very small. As you move around the map, a trail forms behind your worm. If an opponent's worm crosses your trail, their worm will be cut off at that point and you will gain the mass that you cut off. This allows your worm to grow bigger and gives you an advantage over smaller worms.

The gameplay is very simple - you use your mouse or finger on mobile to steer your worm around. But there is some strategy and skill involved, as you try to trap opponents to cut off pieces of their worms while avoiding having your own worm cut. The larger your worm grows, the easier it becomes to trap smaller worms.

As an online multiplayer game, you are competing against worms controlled by other players also connected to the same server. There can be up to 500 players in one map. The game has cartoonish graphics and gameplay suitable for all ages.
