What is Agar.io Clone?
Agar.io Clone is an open source recreation of the popular multiplayer browser game Agar.io. Like the original game, players control a cell on a petri dish map and must eat smaller AI-controlled cells and food pellets scattered around the map in order to gain mass and grow their cell. Meanwhile, larger player-controlled cells are also roaming the map, attempting to eat smaller cells in order to become the biggest and most dominant cell.
As your cell gets larger from consuming food and smaller cells, your movement speed decreases, making it harder to chase down food and evade larger predators. Players can eject a small portion of their cell's mass in order to create a splitting effect that can aid in swiftly catching food or escaping from tricky situations. The goal is to gain as much mass as possible without getting completely swallowed up by bigger cells. Custom maps and game modifiers allow players to create unique gameplay scenarios.
Agar.io quickly became popular thanks to its simple, yet addictive gameplay formula. Agar.io Clone allows developers to build their own versions with expanded features and customization options. It serves as a great introduction to concepts like socket programming, canvas rendering, and browser-based physics.
