What is American Truck Simulator?

American Truck Simulator is a truck driving and cargo delivery simulation game developed and published by SCS Software. It was released in February 2016 for PC on Steam. ATS allows players to experience the life of an American trucker, delivering various cargos across realistically modeled western U.S. states and cities.

In the game, players choose one of many American branded trucks models like Peterbilt, Kenworth, or Freightliner. They can customize their trucks with upgrades and accessories, then hire drivers and manage their trucking business. Players pick up cargo from various locations including ports, industrial areas, farms, etc. and navigate highways, small towns, gas stations, rest stops, weigh stations, and inspection points to deliver them. The wide variety of cargos include everyday consumer goods, foods, cars, heavy machinery, and more.

The map in ATS spans over 12,000 miles of roads and highways spread across 5 western states so far: California, Nevada, Arizona, New Mexico, Oregon, with more states planned in future updates. The environments and locations are impressively detailed featuring recognizable landmarks and accurate highway systems.
