What is Apple Spaces?

Apple Spaces, later replaced by Mission Control in newer versions of macOS, is a virtual desktop feature that allows users to organize their workflow by grouping apps, windows, and documents into multiple spaces or workspaces. With Spaces enabled, users can create distinct desktops for different projects or workflows, helping to reduce clutter and improve multitasking.

Spaces allows you to fully customize up to 16 different desktop spaces as needed. Each space can contain whichever apps, documents, and windows you wish. You can easily add, remove, or switch between spaces with simple trackpad gestures or keyboard shortcuts. For example, you may create individual spaces for tasks like web browsing, writing documents, checking email, video editing, programming, finance work, and more.
