What is Beyond: Two Souls?

Beyond: Two Souls is an interactive drama action-adventure video game developed by Quantic Dream and published by Sony Computer Entertainment for the PlayStation 3 in 2013. A PlayStation 4 version was released in 2015.

In Beyond: Two Souls, players assume control of Jodie Holmes, a young woman who has had a connection to a mysterious entity named Aiden since birth. This entity has powerful supernatural abilities that Jodie can partially access and control. The game jumps back and forth between different parts of Jodie's life, from her childhood to her early adult years.

Gameplay is focused on interacting with characters and objects in the environment and performing quick-time events during action sequences. The player can also switch control and perspective to Aiden, enabling them to move freely around areas and use his powers, like knocking down barriers or controlling certain characters.

The game features high quality motion capture performances from its two lead actors, Ellen Page and Willem Dafoe. It received generally positive critical reviews, with praise focused on the story, graphics, acting performances. However some felt the gameplay lacked depth in places.
