What is Blocky Rider?

Blocky Rider is a fun and challenging 2D side-scrolling platform game. Players control Blocky, a square character made of blocks, and guide him through various levels full of platforms, obstacles, and coins to collect.

The goal of each level is to successfully reach the finish line at the end without dying along the way. Players use the keyboard to move Blocky left and right, make him jump over gaps and obstacles, and even slide under low barriers. Precise timing and control is required to string together the right series of movements to clear each level.

As players progress, the levels become more difficult with higher platforms to climb, more dangerous enemies to avoid, moving traps, and tricky configurations of obstacles. There are over 50 hand-crafted levels of increasing difficulty to master.

Coins are scattered around each level which can be collected for points and high scores on the online leaderboards. Players need to balance reaching the end as fast as possible while also picking up coins along the optimal routes.

With its pixel graphics and chip tune music tracks, Blocky Rider takes inspiration from classic 2D platformers. The simple one-button control scheme is easy to pick up but allows for nuanced speedrunning and route optimization.
