What is Chord NOTE?

Chord NOTE is software designed to help songwriters with one of the most fundamental parts of songwriting - coming up with chord progressions and melody ideas. As a chord progression and melody sketchpad, Chord NOTE aims to spark creativity by instantly generating chord progressions and basic melody ideas based on the key and genre selected.

After selecting a key that fits your song idea from the circle of fifths, you can choose from genres like pop, rock, jazz, and blues. Chord NOTE will then intelligently generate a full chord progression fitting that key and genre. The chord progression is displayed in standard chord chart format showing the chords and number of bars. A basic melody sketch is also generated that fits over the chord progression.

You can iterate through different chord progression and melody idea options by regenerating until you land on something that inspires you. The generated ideas act as a jumping off point to then craft your own original song. Chord progressions can be edited and customized as well. You also have the option to print out the chord charts for easy reference.
