What is Comix?
Comix is a versatile and customizable open-source comic book reader and viewer. It is designed to provide an efficient, pleasant and intuitive reading experience while viewing comic book archives and collections.
Comix supports all major comic book formats including CBZ, CBR, CB7, LHA, PDF as well as folder based collections and images. It allows for quick browsing, opening and viewing of comics with its simple and uncluttered user interface. Users can easily zoom and pan panels and pages for reading comfort.
The software provides extensive tools and options for managing comic book libraries and metadata. Comics can be grouped into user-defined catalogs for organizational purposes. Details like titles, summary, genre, writer and artist information can be edited through the metadata dialog.
For reading, Comix offers different viewing modes like fullscreen for distraction free reading. Page transitions, flow between panels and automatically advancing pages add to the immersive reading experience. It also has options for displaying manga right-to-left. A slideshow feature allows hands-free viewing.
As an open-source software, Comix is community developed allowing advanced users to modify and extend functionality if needed. It is available free of charge for Linux, Windows and macOS platforms.
